Thursday's European Review

Rangers defeated Sparta Prague while Aberdeen drew in Greece

Rangers defeated Sparta Prague 2-1 at Ibrox to boost their hopes of reaching the Europa League knockout stages.

First-half goals from Danilo and Todd Cantwell put Philippe Clement's side in control before Lukas Haraslin pulled one back for Sparta.

The Light Blues sit in second place in Group C with seven points after four matches, two points behind leaders Real Betis, with Aris Limassol up next in Glasgow on November 30.

Aberdeen secured a 2-2 draw with PAOK Salonika in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Duk gave Aberdeen the lead in Greece after 14 minutes before Taison equalised for the hosts before half time. Samatta put PAOK ahead in the 67th minute but a free-kick from Jamie McGrath three minutes later to claim a point.

Barry Robson's men cannot now progress from Group G with PAOK leading the way with 10 points and Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 guaranteed to finish as the section's top two.
