Viaplay Cup Semi-Final Key Players – Heart of Midlothian

Who will the Jam Tarts be counting on at Hampden on Sunday?

Frankie Kent

The summer arrival from Peterborough has been a mainstay of the Hearts defence, making 16 appearances and featuring in over 900 minutes of league action to date.

A strong penalty box defender and keen to dominate in the air, Kent has impressed supporters with his all-action displays.

Kent has formed a strong understanding with Kye Rowles, with Tony Sibbick and Stephen Kingsley fitting in alongside the duo in the opening few months.

Cammy Devlin

While Hearts’ midfield has gone through some changes in the early stages of 23/24, the combative midfielder remains an integral part of the system.

One of the most tenacious tacklers in the Scottish game, Devlin raises the tempo of a match with his energy and passion.

Not known for his goalscoring, Devlin showed he could be the man for the big occasion when he scored a double as Hearts faced Rosenborg at a raucous Tynecastle.

Another big display from the Australian will be key if Hearts are to progress to the final.

Lawrence Shankland

The Hearts captain has two goals in his last three cinch Premiership matches, including against Sunday’s opponents, and seems to be coming into form at the perfect time.

While he’s always been an impressive finisher in the penalty area, Shankland has shown he’s added elements to his game including good hold-up play and impressive movement into the channels.

Will Shankland be paired with Liam Boyce or Kenneth Vargas – who scored the winner against Livingston on Wednesday – at the national stadium?
