Weaver calls time on East Stirling career
Work commitments force midfielder to end time at the Shire
East Stirlingshire midfielder Paul Weaver has announced that he has called time on his career at the Third Division club because of work commitments. Weaver’s last appearance came as a substitute against Albion Rovers on Saturday with head coach Jim McInally saying, “We will be sad to lose Paul but he felt it would be unfair on the club to continue in the current situation where he knew in advance he would not be available for certain matches.”
Weaver joined from Ayr United in January 2009 and McInally added, “Paul has already encountered problems getting time off on Saturdays from his new job and, as a result, has decided to concentrate on his full-time career. I think I speak for everyone when I say that he has been a really valuable member of the squad since he joined us and played a big part in our two promotion pushes over the last couple of years.”
