1 – Partick Thistle beat Connah’s Quay Nomads 2-0 at the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill to give Ian McCall his first home win in his second spell in charge of the Jags. 14 – Inverness Caledonian Thistle defeated Alloa Athletic 3-0 to move into the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup quarter-final. Saturday’s victory extended Inverness’ unbeaten home run against Alloa to 14 matches. The Wasps have never won at the Caledonian Stadium - their last win in Inverness was a 2-1 victory at Telford Street in the Challenge Cup back in August 1995. The Caley Jags have a great record in this competition – they have reached the final in three of the last four occasions they have participated, with last season’s round one exit being the only blip. In fact, every previous time they have made it past their second match, they have gone on to reach the final.
