4 – Celtic defeated Rangers 1-0 at Hampden to win the 2019/20 Betfred Cup, the first silverware of the season. Christopher Jullien scored the only goal to ensure a fourth consecutive Betfred Cup for the Bhoys, who have now won each of the last 10 domestic trophies available to them. The Hoops have racked up an amazing 31 straight wins in domestic cup competitions – their last defeat came against Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final in April 2016. The only other side to win four League Cups in a row were Jock Stein’s Celtic, who won the trophy in five consecutive seasons from 1965/66 to 1969/70.

3 – Motherwell climbed to third place in the Ladbrokes Premiership thanks to a 1-0 victory over Hearts at Fir Park. Stephen Robinson’s side have recorded three wins and kept three clean sheets in the last week to move two points ahead of Aberdeen in the table. The Steelmen have now earned four consecutive wins at Fir Park, continuing their excellent home form in 2019 – they have won 13 of their 18 home Premiership matches this year, losing just four.

1 – Raith Rovers climbed to the top of the Ladbrokes League 1 table thanks to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Airdrieonians at Stark’s Park. Ross Matthews scored the only goal for Rovers to see them leapfrog the Diamonds to the summit. John McGlynn’s side are now unbeaten in 13 home matches in all competitions – their only loss in Kirkcaldy this season came in their opening match against Dundee in the Betfred Cup. Rovers have won each of their last eight home games against Airdrie – the last time they failed to do so was a 1-0 loss in April 2010.
