Incredibly, this was Saints’ first away win of 2019 – in 19 previous matches on the road in all competitions they had drawn six and lost 13. This sequence was all the more surprising given that they had finished 2018 with a club run of six consecutive away league wins.

8 – Dundee United defeated Arbroath 1-0 away from home to extend their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship to 13 points. This was United’s first league visit to Gayfield since November 1974 and they took all three points thanks to Sam Stanton’s early goal. This was the Gable Endies’ biggest home win in nearly seven years – the last time they won by a four-goal margin at Links Park was back in February 2013, when they defeated Annan Athletic 5-1.
