0 – Rangers maintained their lead at the top of the Premiership courtesy of a 4-0 victory over Dundee United at Ibrox. The Light Blues have become first club in the entire history of Scottish League football to start the season with seven consecutive clean sheets. Steven Gerrard’s side have picked up six wins and a draw from their opening seven fixtures, which is Rangers’ best start to a top-flight season since 2011/12, when they also had 19 points at this stage.
3 – Hibernian defeated St Mirren 3-0 at the Simple Digital Arena to remain within three points of the top of the table. Jack Ross has led the Hibees to their best start to a top-flight season in 20 years – the last time they had 16 points from their opening seven league matches was in 2000/01, when Alex McLeish’s side went on to finish in a comfortable third place. Hibs are now unbeaten in their last eight meetings with Saints – their last defeat was in the Championship in March 2017.
5 – Aberdeen maintained their impressive run of form with a 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Pittodrie. Derek McInnes’ men have now recorded five consecutive victories in all competitions, which is their best run since August 2017. Ross McCrorie scored his first Premiership goal since May 2018 – that was also at Pittodrie but was an equaliser for Rangers in a 1-1 draw. The Dons extended their unbeaten run against Killie to nine matches in all competitions – the Ayrshire side’s last victory was back in September 2018.
5 – Celtic thumped Ross County 5-0 at the Global Energy Stadium to remain six points behind Rangers with two games in hand. Saturday’s success was the Hoops’ biggest away win in all competitions since they defeated Dundee by the same scoreline in October 2018. Albian Ajeti marked his first start for the club with his third Premiership goal of the season – Ajeti has now scored in his first three Premiership appearances, making him the first Celtic player to do so since Scott Sinclair in 2016.
2 – Hamilton Academical beat Livingston 2-1 at the Tony Macaroni Arena to climb to ninth in the Premiership table. Brian Rice’s side came from a goal behind to record their second victory of the season, with 18-year-old Kyle Munro notching the winning goal on his first start for the club. It is the first time Accies have recorded back-to-back away wins in the league since the autumn of 2017.
1 – Motherwell picked up their first Premiership victory of the season by beating St Johnstone 1-0 at Fir Park. Allan Campbell scored the only goal for the Steelmen, fresh from also scoring the winner for Scotland U21s in Lithuania in midweek. Stephen Robinson’s side have now recorded three consecutive wins over Saints at Fir Park without conceding a single goal.
