46 – Rangers thumped Motherwell 5-1 at Fir Park to keep themselves at the top of the Premiership table. Steven Gerrard’s side have scored 20 goals in their last five matches in all competitions, an average of four per game, despite the fact that each of their last four games have been away from home. Sunday’s victory extended the Light Blues’ unbeaten run against Motherwell in the league to an incredible 46 matches – the Steelmen last picked up three points in this fixture on Boxing Day 2002.
3 – Celtic kept themselves just a point behind Rangers with a game in hand, courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Hibernian at Celtic Park. Albian Ajeti made it five goals in six Premiership appearances, with Callum McGregor and Mo Elyounoussi adding the other goals for The Hoops. Neil Lennon’s side have scored three or more goals in each of their last eight home Premiership matches – the last time Celtic did this was during Lennon’s first spell in charge in the final nine home matches of the 2012/13 campaign.
3 – Aberdeen bounced back from their midweek European disappointment by defeating Ross County 3-0 at the Global Energy Stadium on Sunday. Marley Watkins netted his first goal for the Dons before Lewis Ferguson scored the first double of his career, with both goals coming from the penalty spot. This was Aberdeen’s biggest league win since November 2019, when they defeated Kilmarnock by the same scoreline at Pittodrie. Derek McInnes’ side have now won on each of their last five visits to Dingwall, with their last defeat coming back in December 2016.
1 – Kilmarnock defeated St Mirren 1-0 at the Simple Digital Arena to climb to fifth in the Premiership table. Nicke Kabamba celebrated his first DR Congo call-up by netting the only goal of the game – the striker has now scored four in his last four matches. Killie have now won five of their last six matches against Saints, all of them by a single-goal margin. In fact, each of the last four meetings have finished 1-0, with Killie winning three and Saints the other.
2 – Livingston climbed off the bottom of the Premiership table thanks to a 2-0 victory over St Johnstone at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Scott Tiffoney and Alan Forrest scored the goals for Livi as they picked up just their second win of the season. Gary Holt’s side have now recorded three wins in a row against Saints in West Lothian, with the Perth side’s last victory coming back in October 2018.
7 – Hamilton Academical and Dundee United played out a 1-1 draw at the FOYS Stadium in what was their first meeting since the 2016/17 Premiership play-off final. Lawrence Shankland opened the scoring for United to make it two in two matches, but Accies defender Hakeem Odoffin equalised with his third goal of the season to ensure a share of the points. The draw extended Hamilton’s unbeaten run against United to seven matches in all competitions, with United’s last win in the fixture coming back in April 2015.
