Weekend in numbers

Resident statto @splstats looks at some of the numbers from the weekend...

442 – St Johnstone defeated Dundee 3-1 at McDiarmid Park on Saturday to earn their second cinch Premiership victory of the season. Two goals from Chris Kane and one from Stevie May handed Saints a victory which moved them up to eighth in the table. Liam Craig broke St Johnstone’s all-time appearance record by playing his 442nd game for the club, moving him one clear of former team-mate Steven Anderson. Saturday’s success was St Johnstone’s seventh consecutive win over Dundee in all competitions, a run which stretches back to the start of the 2018/19 season.

13 – Rangers remain top of the cinch Premiership thanks to a 2-1 victory over Hibernian at Ibrox on Sunday. Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos were on the scoresheet as Steven Gerrard’s side came from behind to take all three points and keep themselves one ahead of Hearts at the top of the table. Rangers are unbeaten in their last 13 matches against Hibs in all competitions – they have picked up eight wins and five draws since the Hibees’ last victory in February 2018.

4 – Raith Rovers defeated Kilmarnock 3-1 at the BBSP Stadium, Rugby Park to keep themselves in fourth place in the cinch Championship. Liam Dick opened the scoring for John McGlynn’s side before substitute Matej Poplatnik sealed the win with a late double. Rovers have won each of their last four league matches against Killie, though the previous three were over 24 years ago, in the 1996/97 Premier Division season. Poplatnik is the first Rovers player to score a double as a substitute since Lewis Vaughan in a 4-0 victory over Forfar Athletic in September 2018.

10 – Cove Rangers moved level on points with Queen’s Park at the top of cinch League 1 thanks to a 3-1 victory over Alloa Athletic at the Indodrill Stadium. Rory McAllister was the hero, netting a hat-trick to ensure Paul Hartley earned a win over his former club. McAllister is now the joint top scorer in the SPFL, with nine league goals in nine matches this season. This was McAllister’s 10th hat-trick of his career, and his first since he scored five times in Peterhead’s 9-0 win over Colville Park in the Scottish Cup in October 2017. Six of McAllister’s 10 hat-tricks have been away from home.

0 – Kelty Hearts beat Annan Athletic 2-1 at New Central Park to remain four points clear of Stirling Albion at the top of cinch League 2. Jamie Barjonas and Kallum Higginbotham scored the goals to ensure Kevin Thomson’s side maintained their unbeaten record as an SPFL club. Kelty are one of just three teams who remain unbeaten in the league this season – the others are Heart of Midlothian and Queen’s Park.
