On-loan Livingston striker Jaze Kabia came off the bench at half-time to score both goals on his debut for the Bairns, as they closed the gap on Queen’s Park to a point. Kabia is just the fourth Falkirk player this century to score twice on his debut – he joins Michael Higdon, Lyle Taylor and Ben Hall.
7 – Stranraer climbed into fifth place in cinch League 2 thanks to a 1-0 victory over Cowdenbeath at Central Park. Matty Yates’ late penalty ensured that Stevie Farrell’s side moved level on points with Edinburgh City in the final play-off place – they are currently just one behind the Citizens on goal difference. The Blues are now unbeaten in their last seven matches against the Blue Brazil – they’ve picked up six wins and a draw since their last defeat back in October 2015.
9 – St Mirren moved into round five of the Scottish Cup courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Ayr United at Somerset Park. Kyle McAllister and Greg Kiltie scored within the first 25 minutes to ensure the cinch Premiership side made it through against their Championship opponents. 7 – Livingston defeated Ross County 1-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena in the only Scottish Cup tie which featured two cinch Premiership clubs. Ayo Obileye’s penalty ensured the home side came out on top and progressed to the fifth round of the cup. Livi are now unbeaten in seven matches against the Staggies in all competitions – they have five wins and two draws.
1 – Kelty Hearts defeated holders St Johnstone 1-0 at New Central Park to progress to the fifth round of the Scottish Cup. Kallum Higginbotham scored the only goal in extra time to send the Fife club through to the last 16 of the Scottish Cup for the first time in their history. This is the first time the Scottish Cup holders have been knocked out by a club in cinch League 2. Indeed, this is just the third time in the history of the Scottish Cup that a fourth-tier club have knocked out top flight opponents – the others being Albion Rovers against Motherwell in 2013/14 and Annan Athletic beating Hamilton Academical in 2016/17.
