Weekend preview

A look ahead to this weekend's games in the SPFL...

cinch Premiership
Celtic hold a six-point lead, and have a superior goal difference, over Rangers going into Sunday’s match at Celtic Park, which is live on Sky Sports at 12 noon. The Ibrox club won the recent Scottish Cup semi-final between the teams but Ange Postecoglou’s side are unbeaten in the cinch Premiership since September. The other top-six games take place on Saturday, with third-placed Heart of Midlothian at home to Ross County and Dundee United up against Motherwell at Tannadice. Meanwhile, bottom club Dundee travel to Aberdeen while St Johnstone could cut the gap on St Mirren to two points if they beat the Buddies in Perth. Livingston and Hibernian meet at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

cinch Championship
The final fixtures all take place on Friday evening, with Raith Rovers versus champions Kilmarnock live on BBC Scotland, kick-off 7.45pm. Rovers have an outside chance of making the play-offs but anything other than a heavy defeat for Partick Thistle will see them secure fourth spot. The Jags are away to Ayr United, who need to win to be sure of avoiding the relegation play-off berth. That is currently occupied by Dunfermline Athletic, who trail the Honest Men by a point and take on relegated Queen of the South at East End Park. Runners-up Arbroath face Morton at Gayfield and third-placed Inverness CT entertain Hamilton Accies.

cinch League 1
Everything has already been settled in the third tier ahead of the final weekend. Champions Cove Rangers conclude an outstanding campaign away to relegated East Fife while runners-up Airdrieonians host Peterhead. Third-placed Montrose travel to Alloa Athletic and Queen's Park, who are also in the play-offs, welcome Falkirk to Firhill. Dumbarton, who are certain to finish in the relegation play-off place, take on Clyde.

cinch League 2
Kelty Hearts were crowned champions at the end of March and finish away to third-placed Annan Athletic, who will face Forfar Athletic in the play-offs. The Loons are at home to Stenhousemuir on Saturday. Edinburgh City booked their play-off place last weekend and will take on Dumbarton on Tuesday after facing Stirling Albion at Forthbank tomorrow. Stranraer play Elgin City at Stair Park and bottom club Cowdenbeath - who will meet either Bonnyrigg Rose or Fraserburgh in a fight for their SPFL status – are up against Albion Rovers at Central Park.
