6 – Aberdeen defeated Dundee United 1-0 at Pittodrie to ensure they head into the winter break in third place in the cinch Premiership. Bojan Miovski’s penalty was enough to give Jim Goodwin’s side all three points and make it six wins out of seven at home in the league this season. The Dons have now won six consecutive home matches in all competitions - this is their best run at Pittodrie since Derek McInnes’ side won 10 in a row from December 2016 to April 2017. Miovski moved on to 11 goals in the league, making him joint top goalscorer in the cinch Premiership alongside Antonio Colak.
1 – Kilmarnock climbed off the foot of the cinch Premiership table thanks to a 1-0 victory over Hibernian at the BBSP Stadium, Rugby Park. Daniel Armstrong scored the only goal of the game from the spot to move Derek McInnes’ side three points clear of bottom club Dundee United and level on points with 10th-placed Ross County. Killie ended a run of six straight defeats against Hibs in all competitions and picked up their first win over the Hibees since September 2019. Armstrong took his goal tally for the season to eight in all competitions - even more impressively, he has scored the decisive goal in all four of Killie’s league victories this season.
7 – Greenock Morton defeated Partick Thistle 2-1 at Cappielow to remain in second place in the cinch Championship. Goals from Efe Ambrose and Cameron Blues handed Dougie Imrie’s side all three points to keep them just three behind leaders Ayr United at the top of the table. Morton are now unbeaten in seven league matches – they have picked up five wins and two draws since their last defeat, away to Partick Thistle at the start of October. The Ton have recorded four victories in a row at Cappielow – this is the first time they have achieved four consecutive home wins since December 2016–January 2017 under Jim Duffy.
5 – Alloa Athletic moved into the top four of cinch League 1 after thumping Queen of the South 5-1 at the Indodrill Stadium. The Wasps trailed early on but goals from Ross MacIver, Daniel Church, George Stanger, Kieran Offord and Adam King secured an emphatic victory. This was the first time in over a decade that five different Alloa players have scored in the same match – the last time came in a 5-1 victory over East Stirlingshire in March 2012, when Robbie Winters, Stevie May, Ryan Harding, Ross McCord and Craig Campbell all found the net. Alloa are unbeaten in their last six home matches against the Doonhamers – they have picked up four wins and two draws since their last defeat in October 2015.
4 – Dumbarton extended their lead at the top of cinch League 2 to five points thanks to a 4-0 victory over Elgin City at Borough Briggs. Ross MacLean, Gregg Wylde, Aron Lynas and Ryan Wallace were all on the scoresheet to help Stevie Farrell’s side make it four wins on the bounce. This was Dumbarton’s biggest away win in over eight years, since they defeated Alloa Athletic 5-1 in the Championship in January 2014. The Sons have now recorded six consecutive victories over Elgin, a run that stretches back to 2009.
