6 - Hibernian thrashed Aberdeen 6-0 at Easter Road to climb to fifth place in the cinch Premiership table. A Josh Campbell hat-trick plus goals from Elie Youan, Kevin Nisbet and Will Fish handed Hibs their biggest ever victory over the Dons. It was the first time Hibs had scored six goals in a match since a 6-0 win over Hamilton Accies in October 2018. Campbell was the first Hibs player to score a treble against Aberdeen since 1968, when Peter Cormack did so in a 6-2 win at Pittodrie - that was also the last time Hibs scored six against the Dons.
3 - Ross County climbed off the foot of the cinch Premiership table courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Kilmarnock at the Global Energy Stadium. Eamonn Brophy netted on his County debut before goals from Jordan White and Yan Dhanda sealed the victory for the Staggies. It ended a run of eight matches without a win in all competitions, since they defeated Hibernian 2-0 in November. Ross County are unbeaten in their last six home matches against Killie – the Ayrshire side’s last win in Dingwall was in March 2017.
5 - Ayr United closed the gap at the top of the cinch Championship to a single point thanks to a 5-0 win over Cove Rangers at Balmoral Stadium on Friday night. A double from Josh Mullin and goals from Nick McAllister, Ben Dempsey and Fraser Bryden ensured that Lee Bullen's side cruised to a sixth away league win of the season. It was the Honest Men's biggest away league win since November 2018, when Lawrence Shankland scored four times in a 5-0 victory over Dundee United at Tannadice. Ayr have won both of their matches at Balmoral this season, and will be hoping to make it three out of three when they return in the Scottish Cup tomorrow.
5 - Falkirk defeated Edinburgh 2-1 at Meadowbank Stadium to close the gap at the top of cinch League 1 to five points. Goals from Gary Oliver and Callumn Morrison were enough for John McGlynn's side to make it three wins out of three against the Citizens this season. The Bairns have recorded five consecutive wins in all competitions for the first time since August to September 2016 under Peter Houston. Falkirk have by far the best home record in the division, but this was just their fourth away win of the campaign, two of which have come against Edinburgh.
0 - Dumbarton maintained their four-point lead over Stirling Albion at the top of cinch League 2 thanks to a 1-0 victory over bottom club Bonnyrigg Rose at the Rock. Gregg Wylde scored the only goal of the game to give Stevie Farrell's side their first win of 2023. The Sons remain unbeaten at home in the league this season - they have picked up seven wins and two draws in their nine matches. Indeed, you have to go back to March for their last home league defeat, when Falkirk beat them 2-0.
