Weekend in numbers

Resident statto @splstats looks at some of the numbers from the weekend...

1 - Kilmarnock defeated Dundee United 1-0 at Tannadice to progress to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup. Kyle Vassell scored his first goal for the club to help Killie record their second win over United in the space of 10 days. Derek McInnes' side recorded their first away win in any competition since August - in their last 11 matches on the road they had lost nine and drawn two. It was Killie's first ever win against United at Tannadice in the Scottish Cup - in three previous meetings there had been two draws and one United win.

3 - Raith Rovers reached the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Motherwell at Stark's Park. Jamie Gullan and Sam Stanton scored in the first half before debutant Isma Goncalves sealed Rovers' place in the last eight for the first time since 2014/15. Incredibly, this was Raith's first Scottish Cup win against top-flight opposition in Kirkcaldy for over 50 years, since they defeated Dunfermline Athletic 2-0 in February 1972. Ian Murray's side are now unbeaten in 12 matches in all competitions - their last defeat came against Ayr United in early December.

12 - Greenock Morton defeated Queen's Park 3-2 at Cappielow to climb back into fourth place in the cinch Championship. Two goals from George Oakley and one from Jack Baird ensured that Dougie Imrie's side recorded their first win since late November. Oakley has now scored three times in two league matches since joining the Ton, having previously scored just one in 18 for Inverness in the first half of the season. Morton are now unbeaten in their last 12 league matches against the Spiders - they have picked up 10 wins and two draws since their last defeat, way back in April 1962.

4 - Dunfermline Athletic moved seven points clear at the top of cinch League 1 thanks to a sensational 4-3 comeback win over Airdrieonians at the Excelsior Stadium. James McPake's side trailed 3-0 until the 60th minute, but levelled things up thanks to a Kyle Benedictus penalty and two goals from Matty Todd, before Nikolay Todorov scored a dramatic winner. The last time the Pars came from three goals behind to win a match was back in August 2013, when they defeated Stenhousemuir 5-4 at Ochilview. Dunfermline are now unbeaten in 11 league matches, and have still lost just once in the league all season.

1 - Bonnyrigg Rose defeated Stranraer 1-0 at Stair Park to close the gap at the foot of cinch League 2 to a single point. Alieu Faye scored a last-minute winner, his first goal for the club, to hand Robbie Horn's side their first victory of 2023. It was just a second victory in 14 matches for Rose - the other one also came against Stranraer, back in December. It was Bonnyrigg's first away win since August, when they defeated East Fife in the second weekend of the season.
