10 – St Mirren climbed to fifth place in the cinch Premiership courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Livingston at the SMISA Stadium. Two Mark O’Hara penalties and a goal from Tony Watt gave Steven Robinson’s side a comfortable victory which moved them two points ahead of their opponents in the battle for the top six. Saints are now unbeaten in their last 10 league matches against Livi, a run which stretches back to the opening day of the 2020/21 campaign. St Mirren have recorded nine league wins in Paisley this season – the last time they managed 10 home wins in a top flight season was back in 1984/85, which was also the last time they finished in the top half of the table.
16 – Motherwell defeated Hibernian 3-1 at Easter Road to move further clear of the relegation zone in the cinch Premiership. Sean Goss opened the scoring for the Steelmen, before a Kevin van Veen double took his league tally for the season to 16 goals. Motherwell have picked up four wins and a draw in six matches since Stuart Kettlewell took over as manager, propelling them 11 points clear of bottom side Dundee United and nine ahead of Ross County in the play-off spot. Saturday’s win was Motherwell’s first victory over Hibs in eight attempts – their last success also came in Edinburgh back in February 2021, when Jordan Roberts and Devante Cole were on the scoresheet in a 2-0 win.
7 – Dundee thumped Hamilton Academical 7-0 to move to within a point of the summit of the cinch Championship, with a game in hand. Lyall Cameron scored his first career hat-trick, with Alex Jakubiak, Ryan Sweeney, Luke McCowan and Kwame Thomas also finding their way onto the scoresheet. It was the Dark Blues’ biggest league win in almost half a century, since they defeated Falkirk 8-0 at Brockville in January 1977. The last time they scored seven in the league at Dens Park was also against Accies, when they racked up a 7-3 victory back in May 1987.
5 - Queen of the South kept their cinch League 1 play-off hopes alive with a 2-1 victory over Peterhead at Palmerston. Ruari Paton’s penalty was cancelled out by Jason Brown, but Lee Connelly’s late winner moved the Doonhamers to within six points of fourth placed Alloa Athletic, who they face at the Indodrill Stadium next weekend. Paton has scored 17 league goals this season, and finds himself just one behind Calum Gallagher in the race to be the division’s top scorer. Marvin Bartley’s side have picked up four wins and a draw in their last five matches – it’s the first time in over two years that the Dumfries side have gone five without defeat.
13 – Stirling Albion beat Elgin City 3-0 at Borough Briggs to extend their lead at the top of cinch League 2. Aaron Dunsmore, Dale Carrick and Robert Thomson all found the net as the Binos moved five points clear of Dumbarton with a game in hand. Darren Young’s side are now unbeaten in 13 matches – they have picked up eight wins and five draws since they last tasted defeat back in early December. This is their best run since August-December 2006, when Allan Moore’s side went 18 without a loss on their way to gaining promotion from the third tier.
