10 – Heart of Midlothian defeated Aberdeen 2-0 at Tynecastle to tighten their grip on third place in the cinch Premiership. Goals from Jorge Grant and Lawrence Shankland helped move Steven Naismith’s side 10 points clear of fourth-placed Kilmarnock and kept them within 10 points of Rangers in second spot. Hearts are unbeaten in their last 12 home matches against the Dons in all competitions and have won each of the last five with an aggregate scoreline of 13-1.
4 – Dundee climbed to seventh in the cinch Premiership table with a 4-1 win over Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Amadou Bakayoko, Luke McCowan, Zach Robinson and Michael Mellon were all on the scoresheet for Tony Docherty’s side as they moved to within a point of the top six. The Dee scored four or more goals away from home in the top flight for the first time since February 2017, when they defeated Motherwell 5-1 at Fir Park. The last time four different Dundee players scored in a Premiership match was back in April 2016, when Greg Stewart, Kane Hemmings, Rory Loy and Craig Wighton found the net in a 5-2 win over Ross County at Dens Park.
11 – Greenock Morton defeated Arbroath 3-0 at Cappielow to climb into the top four of the cinch Championship. Robbie Muirhead, George Oakley and Grant Gillespie were the goalscorers as Dougie Imrie’s side leapfrogged Airdrieonians into the final play-off spot. The Ton are now unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions – they have picked up eight wins and three draws and have kept clean sheets in seven of those matches. The last time Morton went 11 without defeat was from November 2006 to January 2007, when they went on to win the SFL Division 2 title. In the last 40 years, Morton have had nine separate unbeaten runs of exactly 11 matches and on each occasion they have lost their 12th match.
5 – Stirling Albion thumped Kelty Hearts 5-0 at Forthbank to move to within two points of the promotion play-offs in cinch League 1. Jordan McGregor and Dale Carrick opened the scoring before substitute Josh Cooper netted a hat-trick inside the last 20 minutes. Cooper was the first player to score a treble for the Binos since Dale Carrick did so against Peterhead in the Viaplay Cup back in July 2022. This was Stirling’s biggest winning margin in the third tier they defeated Alloa Athletic by the same 5-0 scoreline back in November 2006.
2 – Peterhead kept their slim cinch League 2 title hopes alive by defeating leaders Stenhousemuir 2-1 at Balmoor. A Hamish Ritchie double handed the Blue Toon the three points which closed the gap on the Warriors to 13 points. This was just the third time that Stenhousemuir have dropped points away from home this season, and two of them have been at Balmoor – their earlier visit in August finished 0-0.
