6 – Dundee defeated St Johnstone 2-1 at the Scot Foam Stadium at Dens Park on Sunday to move three points clear in the race for the cinch Premiership top six. Tony Docherty’s side trailed at half-time but Luke McCowan pulled them level before Jordan McGhee scored a dramatic late winner. The Dee are now unbeaten in their last five meetings with Saints, having picked up two wins and three draws since their last defeat in October 2021. Dundee have not finished in the top half of the Premiership since 2014/15 but have now put themselves in pole position to change that.
3 – Queen’s Park climbed out of the relegation places in the cinch Championship thanks to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Dunfermline Athletic at KDM Group East End Park. Jack Turner, Dom Thomas and Mackenzie Carse all scored inside the last half hour to lift Callum Davidson’s side up to sixth place and leave their opponents in ninth. The Spiders have won four of their last five matches, two against the Pars, having previously gone 15 matches without a win.
1 – Annan Athletic defeated Hamilton Academical 3-2 at New Douglas Park to boost their survival hopes in cinch League 1. Peter Murphy’s side led 2-0 through Tommy Goss and Willie Gibson but were pegged back to 2-2 before Josh Walker scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner. It was the Galabankies’ first away win of the season across all competitions and leaves them seven points behind 8th-placed Stirling Albion with 13 matches to play. This was Annan’s first ever league win over Accies, although they had recorded three previous wins in cup competitions.
350 – Elgin City moved one step closer to survival in cinch League 2 thanks to a dramatic 2-1 win over Spartans at Ainslie Park. Mitchell Taylor secured three crucial points with an injury-time winner after Mark Gallagher's goal had been cancelled out. It was Elgin’s first away win in 350 days, since they defeated Dumbarton on February 25 last year. It moved them up to sixth in the table, 12 points ahead of bottom club Clyde. City have won five of their last eight cinch League 2 matches, having previously only recorded three wins in their first 16 league games.
13 – Greenock Morton moved into the Scottish Cup quarter-finals thanks to a 2-1 victory over Motherwell at Cappielow on Friday night. Dougie Imrie’s side opened the scoring thanks to a Harry Paton own goal before George Oakley’s second-half strike secured a famous victory. It was Morton’s first Scottish Cup win over top-flight opposition in 13 attempts – their last success came against Gretna back in 2007/08. Dougie Imrie’s side are now unbeaten in 13 matches in all competitions – they have picked up 10 wins and three draws.
