4 – Dundee United defeated Arbroath 4-0 at Tannadice to remain four points clear at the top of the cinch Championship. A Tony Watt double and goals from Kai Fotheringham and Alex Grieve helped Jim Goodwin’s side record back-to-back wins for the first time since the turn of the year. The Terrors have won all four cinch Championship matches against the Red Lichties this season, scoring 17 goals without reply. There have only been three bigger aggregate scorelines over a season in Scottish League history – United themselves were responsible one of those, when they beat Morton 18-0 across the 1984/85 campaign. The others were Celtic 23-1 Aberdeen in 1999/00 and Gretna 23-4 Albion Rovers in 2004/05.
5 – Raith Rovers kept up the pressure in the cinch Championship title race with a 2-0 victory over Dunfermline Athletic at Stark’s Park. Sam Stanton and Dylan Easton were on the scoresheet as Rovers recorded a fifth consecutive win over their Fife rivals in all competitions. This is the first time Rovers have ever beaten the Pars four times in a league campaign – their last clean sweep against Dunfermline came back in 1980/81, when the sides only met three times in the league. Saturday’s success was Rovers’ 16th league win of the season, but incredibly was the first time they had won by more than a single goal.
4 – Montrose thumped Cove Rangers 4-1 at Balmoral Stadium to move into pole position in the race for the promotion play-off spots in cinch League 1. A Kane Hester double and goals from Graham Webster and Blair Lyons kept Stewart Petrie’s side in third place and moved them five points clear of their opponents, who sit in fifth. The Gable Endies have won six of their last seven matches, with the only exception being a defeat away to runaway league leaders Falkirk. They have netted 20 goals across those seven matches, with Saturday’s win being the third time they have scored four in a match.
9 – Forfar Athletic took a huge step closer to safety in cinch League 2 thanks to a crucial 2-1 victory over Clyde at Station Park. Ray McKinnon’s side trailed with half an hour remaining, but goals from Rayan Mohammed and Matty Allan handed them all three points to move 10 points clear of their opponents at the foot of the table. The Loons are now unbeaten in nine league matches, winning four and drawing five – this is their best run since their promotion campaign in 2016/17.
10 – Aberdeen defeated Kilmarnock 3-1 at Pittodrie to secure their place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals. Goals from Jamie McGrath, Graeme Shinnie and a Stuart Findlay own goal helped the Dons to victory in what proved to be the final match of Neil Warnock’s brief stint in charge. Aberdeen how now reached the last four of the Scottish Cup in five of the last eight seasons, although they only made it to the final once in those previous four. The Dons have still never lost a Scottish Cup tie against Killie – this was the 10th occasion the sides have been drawn together and the Dons have made it through all 10 times, including three in the last six seasons.
