1 – Ross County defeated Rangers 3-2 at the Global Energy Stadium on Sunday to boost their cinch Premiership survival hopes. Goals from Simon Murray, George Harmon and Josh Sims handed County a victory which moved them to within a point of 10th-placed St Johnstone. It was the Staggies’ first ever competitive victory over Rangers – they had faced the Ibrox side on 24 previous occasions, losing 20 and drawing four. County remain unbeaten in Dingwall under Don Cowie – they have picked up three wins and two draws at home since he took over in February.
6 – Dundee secured the final spot in the cinch Premiership top six courtesy of a 0-0 draw with Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Tony Docherty’s side have earned two wins and two draws from their last five matches to nudge ahead of Hibernian into sixth in the table. The Dee have only finished in the top half of the top flight once in the last 20 years – that was a 6th-placed finish under Paul Hartley in 2014/15. They are just three points behind St Mirren in the battle for 5th and a potential European spot – they last finished in the top five back in 1998/99 under Jocky Scott.
4 – Airdrieonians defeated Dunfermline Athletic 2-1 at the Excelsior Stadium to all but secure a top four spot in the cinch Championship. Goals from Dean McMaster and Gavin Gallagher moved the Diamonds nine points clear of their opponents with just three matches remaining, all but confirming their place in the cinch Premiership play-offs. On February 26, Rhys McCabe’s side sat in 7th spot, just two points ahead of the relegation play-off spot, and eight behind Morton in 4th, but since then they have taken 23 points from 10 matches (and also won the SPFL Trust Trophy). Airdrie have won their last four league matches – the last time they did this in the second tier was way back in November/December 2004 under Sandy Stewart.
8 – Annan Athletic defeated Cove Rangers 4-2 at Galabank to climb out of the bottom two of cinch League 1 for the first time since early October. Tommy Goss, Matty Douglas, Benjamin Luissint and Josh Walker were all on the scoresheet as Peter Murphy’s side moved up to 8th place, ahead of Stirling Albion on goal difference. There have been 18 goals in the four matches between these sides this season – Cove had won the first three by scorelines of 3-2, 3-1 and 2-1. The Galabankies have picked up three wins, three draws and just one defeat in their last seven league matches to give themselves a fighting chance of avoiding their drop in their first ever season at this level.
4 – Bonnyrigg Rose eased their cinch League 2 relegation worries thanks to a massive 4-1 victory over East Fife at the MGM Timber Bayview Stadium. Goals from Neil Martyniuk, Ross Gray, Bradley Barrett and Kerr Young moved the Rose four points clear of bottom club Clyde and three clear of Stranraer with just three matches to go. Bonnyrigg had gone 11 matches without a win in all competitions since beating Elgin in February, but the arrival of Calum Elliot as manager appears to have changed their fortunes – they have now taken five points from his three matches in charge. Saturday’s win equalled Bonnyrigg’s biggest away winning margin since they joined the SPFL – it’s the third time they’ve won by a three-goal margin and incredibly all three of them have been in Methil. They beat the Fifers 3-0 in their first ever SPFL away fixture in August 2022 and repeated that scoreline in their previous meeting this season in December.
