5 – Partick Thistle thumped Hamilton Academical 5-1 at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill to climb into the top four of the William Hill Championship. Doubles from Scott Robinson and Brian Graham and a goal from Logan Chalmers extended the Jags’ unbeaten league run to seven matches. Thistle had only scored nine goals in their previous 10 matches, and had only scored more than one goal in one of those games. Graham’s double took him on to 10 goals for the season in all competitions – this is the fifth consecutive season where he has hit double figures for Thistle – the last player to do this for the club was their current manager Kris Doolan, who actually netted 10 or more goals in eight consecutive seasons between 2010/11 and 2017/18.
11 – Livingston closed the gap at the top of the William Hill Championship by beating leaders Falkirk 1-0 at the Home of the Set Fare Arena. Tete Yengi scored the only goal of the game to help David Martindale’s side move to within three points of the Bairns. The Lions are now unbeaten in their last 11 home league games – their last defeat came against Celtic in the Premiership back in March. This is Livi’s best home unbeaten run in the league in over 13 years, when they set a club record 28 home league games without defeat between April 2010 and November 2011. Livingston are now unbeaten in their last eight league games against Falkirk – they have won four and drawn four since their last defeat back in December 2015.
1 – Kelty Hearts defeated Annan Athletic 2-0 at Galabank to climb to the top of William Hill League 1. Two quickfire goals from Scott Williamson and Connor Allan midway through the first half helped Michael Tidser’s side climb from third to first in the table. This remains the tightest division in the SPFL – only five points separate the top seven sides, and the lead has already changed hands eight times, with five different clubs having been top at some stage. Kelty have lost just one of their last nine matches against Annan in all competitions.
3 – Dumbarton climbed out of the bottom two of William Hill League 1 thanks to a 2-1 victory over Queen of the South at the Marbill Coaches Stadium. Tony Wallace scored a dramatic injury time winner from the spot, after Michael Ruth’s opener had been cancelled out. Stevie Farrell’s side have won three of their last five league matches, having previously failed to win any of their opening nine fixtures. This was Dumbarton’s first win over Queens in eight attempts – their last victory over the Doonhamers was back in April 2017.
3 – Edinburgh City defeated Peterhead 3-2 at Balmoor to move to within a point of the promotion playoff places in William Hill League 2. Connor Young scored all three of City’s goals to take his tally to 13 goals in 13 league games this season – no other SPFL player has even made it into double figures. It was the first hat-trick of the 20 year-old striker’s career, and he’s the first player to score a treble away from home for City since they were promoted to the SPFL in 2016. Edinburgh City have won four consecutive matches in all competitions – this is the first time they have done so since they won six in a row between December 2020 and March 2021.
