14 – Celtic moved 14 points clear at the top of the William Hill Premiership thanks to a 4-0 victory over St Johnstone at Celtic Park. Two goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and one apiece from Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda helped Brendan Rodgers’ side cruise to their 16th victory in 18 league matches. The Hoops have conceded just one goal in their last 10 Premiership matches, and have scored 28 times in the same period. Celtic are unbeaten in their last 31 matches against St Johnstone in all competitions, a run which includes 27 wins and four draws - Saints’ last win was a 3-1 success in Perth in May 2016.
4 – Hibernian defeated Kilmarnock 1-0 at Easter Road to move to within three points of the top six in the William Hill Premiership. A Nectar Triantis goal midway through the first half was enough to seal a fourth consecutive win for David Gray’s side. The last time Hibs recorded four wins in a row was back in September and October 2022 – that run started with a 1-0 home win over Killie. Hibernian have now recorded seven straight wins against Kilmarnock at Easter Road, and are unbeaten in 12 home games against the Ayrshire side – Killie’s last win was a 1-0 success on the final day of the 2013/14 season.
8 – Partick Thistle beat Queen’s Park 2-1 at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill to move seven points clear of their opponents in the final play-off spot. A Brian Graham double saw fourth-placed Thistle close the gap on the three sides above them – they are now 10 points behind leaders Falkirk, four behind Livingston and three behind Ayr United, with a game in hand over all three. Thistle have won four of their last five league matches, and have lost just one of their last 11 as they continue their push for promotion. The Jags are unbeaten in their last eight league meetings with their city rivals – they have picked up six wins and two draws since their last defeat back in January 2023.
4 – Cove Rangers climbed into the top four of William Hill League 1 thanks to a 4-1 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the Caledonian Stadium. Declan Glass, Mitch Megginson, Arron Darge and Adam Emslie were all on the scoresheet for Paul Hartley’s side as they extended their unbeaten run to four matches. Cove remain six points behind leaders Arbroath at the halfway point of the season in what is a very congested title race. The victory was Cove’s first ever league win over the Caley Jags – they had drawn one and lost five of the previous six league meetings.
5 – Elgin City defeated Peterhead 2-0 at Borough Briggs to return to the summit of William Hill League 2. Lewis Hyde and Dylan Gavin scored the goals for Allan Hale’s side as they moved above both their opponents and East Fife at the top of the table. The Black and Whites are unbeaten in their five league matches against Peterhead under Hale’s management – this is a massive change of fortunes, prior to him taking over they had lost 12 league games in a row against the Blue Toon.
