4 – Dundee United beat St Mirren 1-0 to move clear in third place in the William Hill Premiership. Louis Moult scored a spectacular late goal before Jack Walton saved an even later Toyosi Olusanya penalty to seal the three points for Jim Goodwin’s side. United have beaten St Mirren four times out of four this season in all competitions, without conceding a single goal – this is the first time since 2014 they’ve recorded four straight wins over Saints. United have scored 11 league goals in the 87th minute or later this season, and seven of them have been winners or equalisers.
7 – Hibernian climbed into the top six of the William Hill Premiership courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Motherwell at Easter Road. Two goals from Martin Boyle and one from Nectar Triantis helped David Gray’s side jump two places in the table. Boyle moved on to 10 goals for the season – he has made it into double figures in four of the last five seasons, the exception being 2022/23 where he spent much of the season out injured. Hibs are now unbeaten in seven matches, winning five and drawing two – this is their longest undefeated run since August-September 2021 under Jack Ross.
10 – Partick Thistle defeated Hamilton Academical 2-1 at New Douglas Park to move further clear in 4th place in the William Hill Championship. Kris Doolan’s side went behind just after the hour mark but goals from Brian Graham and Ben Stanway saw them extend their lead over 5th placed Queen’s Park to six points. Graham moved on to 10 league goals for the season, moving him level with Oli Shaw at the top of the Championship goalscoring charts. It is the fifth consecutive season Graham has reached double figures in the league for Thistle – he is just the second player ever to do so, after John Torbet from 1928/29 to 1932/33.
1 – Kelty Hearts and Stenhousemuir both moved closer to the top of William Hill League 1 after a 0-0 draw at New Central Park in one of the two fixtures in this division to survive the weather. Both sides remain in the top four – the Warriors are in second place, two points behind Arbroath, while Kelty remain third, a further point back. This was the first ever draw between the sides – Kelty had won the first five meetings, while Stenhousemuir won the most recent one in October.
2 – Peterhead defeated Edinburgh City 1-0 at Meadowbank Stadium to climb to 2nd place in William Hill League 2. Kieran Shanks scored the only goal of the game to help Ryan Strachan and Jordon Brown’s side leapfrog Elgin City in the table. The Blue Toon remain five points behind leaders East Fife, with a game in hand at home to Stranraer on Tuesday. Last season’s top goalscorer Shanks has scored in four of his last five matches, helping Peterhead to take 10 points from those games.
