3 – St Mirren moved up to 7th in the William Hill Premiership courtesy of a 3-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Toyosi Olusanya opened the scoring for Stephen Robinson’s side before a Mikael Mandron double sealed a comprehensive victory. This result equals St Mirren’s biggest ever win at Pittodrie – they also recorded 3-0 victories in September 1953 and December 2023. Saints have won four of their last five matches against the Dons – a run which started with that 3-0 victory in 2023.

Saints went 1-0 down in the 4th minute, and it stayed that way for another 82 minutes before a quickfire double from Taylor Steven and Bozo Mikulic secured a dramatic victory. Steven’s goal was his first for St Johnstone, with the 20-year-old having scored 10 times on loan at Alloa Athletic last season, and a further three for Cliftonville in Northern Ireland in the first half of this campagin. Simo Valakari’s side also beat the Steelmen last weekend in the Scottish Cup, having previously gone nine matches without a win.

Goals from Lewis McGrattan, Chris Mochrie and Ben Wilson handed the Diamonds a victory which moves them to within 10 points of their opponents at the foot of the table. Mochrie has now scored in four consecutive matches – he had previously only scored one goal in his first 25 games for the club since joining in the summer. Only three points now separate the top five, with Arbroath two ahead of both Stenhousemuir and Queen of the South, and both Cove and Kelty Hearts just one further back.
