50 – Celtic defeated Dundee United 3-0 at Celtic Park to remain 13 points clear at the top of the William Hill Premiership. Callum McGregor, Jota and Adam Idah were all on target for Brendan Rodgers’ side as they maintained their unbeaten home league record. Celtic have now gone 23 home league matches without defeat, winning 21 and drawing two – their last defeat came against Hearts in December 2023. The Hoops are now unbeaten in their last 50 home games against Dundee United in all competitions, picking up 38 wins and 12 draws. United’s last win over Celtic in Glasgow was a 1-0 victory on Boxing Day 1992, when Duncan Ferguson scored the only goal of the game.
3 – Ross County climbed out of the relegation places in the William Hill Premiership thanks to a 3-0 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park. A double from Ronan Hale and a goal from Connor Randall helped Don Cowie’s side climb to 10th, two points ahead of Dundee and just two points away from the top six. The Staggies have won four of their last five away games, having previously gone 25 without a league win on the road. This is County’s biggest-ever win at Fir Park – all six of their previous victories in Motherwell had been by a single goal.
12 – Raith Rovers beat Partick Thistle 3-0 at Stark’s Park to put themselves back into play-off contention in the William Hill Championship. Finlay Pollock scored twice and Dylan Easton added a third to move Barry Robson’s side to within six points of fourth-placed Thistle with two games in hand. Rovers are now unbeaten in their last 12 league matches against the Jags in Kirkcaldy – they have won seven and drawn five since their last defeat in March 2011. Thistle did record a 2-1 victory there in the Premiership play-offs last season, but even that match finished with Rovers winning a penalty shoot-out.
3 – Arbroath returned to the top of William Hill League 1 thanks to a 3-0 victory over Queen of the South at Palmerston. The Red Lichties scored three times in the opening half hour through Scott Stewart, Fraser Taylor and a Matty Douglas own goal to move two points clear of Cove Rangers and Stenhousemuir at the summit. This equalled Arbroath’s biggest-ever away win over the Doonhamers – they also won 3-0 in Dumfries way back in October 1928. Arbroath have four wins and two defeats in their last six games, and all four of those victories have been by a three or more goal margin (three 3-0s and a 4-0).
5 – Edinburgh City thumped The Spartans 5-0 at Meadowbank Stadium to strengthen their grip on a top-four spot in William Hill League 2. Doubles from both Innes Lawson and Ouzy See plus a goal from Lewis McArthur gave Michael McIndoe’s side the bragging rights in this Edinburgh derby. City are now just nine points behind leaders East Fife, and 11 points clear of Spartans, who do have two games in hand. Saturday’s victory was the Citizens’ biggest home win since they joined the SPFL. They had previously recorded five 4-0 victories, most recently against Peterhead in December 2022. It isn’t their biggest winning margin in the SPFL, though, that was a 6-0 win away to Airdrie in September 2022.
