10 – Heart of Midlothian moved three points clear at the top of the William Hill Premiership thanks to a 2-1 victory over Celtic at Celtic Park. Claudio Braga and Oisin McEntee scored the goals as Derek McInnes' side secured back-to-back victories over their title rivals. The Jam Tarts have won at both Ibrox and Celtic Park in the same season for just the ninth time in history - the last time they did so was back in 1985/86. This was Derek McInnes’ 10th victory over Celtic as a manager – the only other non-Rangers managers who have done so in the last 50 years are Tommy McLean (12), Alex Ferguson (24) and Jim McLean (27).
8 – Motherwell defeated Livingston 3-0 at Fir Park to remain in 3rd place in the William Hill Premiership. Goals from Elliot Watt, Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and Emmanuel Longelo helped Jens Berthel Askou's side move to within 6 points of 2nd placed Celtic. The Steelmen are unbeaten in their last 8 league matches, winning 5 and drawing 3 - this is their best run since they went 10 without defeat in April-September 2023. They have also kept 4 consecutive clean sheets in the league for the first time since the opening four matches of the 2011/12 campaign.
10 – Airdrieonians climbed out of the bottom 2 of the William Hill Championship thanks to a 2-1 victory over Ross County at the Global Energy Stadium. Gavin Gallagher and Euan Henderson were on the scoresheet as the Diamonds leapfrogged their opponents and Queen’s Park into 8th place in the table. Airdrie have taken 10 points from 6 league matches since Aaron Taylor-Sinclair took over as caretaker manager, having previously earned just 4 from their opening 10 games. This was the Diamonds’ first league win in Dingwall since April 2006, when Gary Twigg scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory. Since then they had visited 8 times in the league, losing 5 and drawing 3.
4 – Alloa Athletic thumped Peterhead 4-0 at the Indodrill Stadium to move up to 2nd in William Hill League 1. Lewis Stewart, Luke Rankin, Conor Sammon and Callum Burnside all scored for Andy Graham’s side as they moved to within 2 points of leaders Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The Wasps are now unbeaten in 8 league matches, conceding just 2 goals in the process – the last time they went 8 without defeat in the league was in the first 8 matches of last season. Alloa have won 7 of their last 8 matches against Peterhead – their only defeat came at Balmoor back in September.
3 – East Kilbride moved to the top of William Hill League 2 thanks to a 3-0 victory over Forfar Athletic at the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park. A double from John Robertson and a goal from Keir Foster, all inside the opening 20 minutes, helped Mick Kennedy’s side secure a comfortable victory. Robertson has now scored 21 goals in 23 matches in all competitions, including 6 in his last 4 matches. Kilby have picked up 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 matches since losing back-to-back games against Spartans in October and November.
