3 – Partick Thistle defeated Ross County 3-1 at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill to close the gap at the top of the William Hill Championship to just three points. Goals from Alex Samuel, Robbie Crawford and Ben McPherson helped Mark Wilson’s side come from behind to secure a crucial victory. The Jags are unbeaten in nine league matches (W5 D4), with their last defeat coming against the Staggies back in January. This is the third time this season that Thistle have beaten County by this exact 3-1 scoreline – they also did so in Dingwall in the Premier Sports Cup back in July and again in the league in August.
2 – Raith Rovers kept alive their hopes of a William Hill Championship top-four finish with a 3-0 victory over Ayr United at Stark’s Park. A double from Innes Cameron and a third from Richard Chin helped Dougie Imrie’s side climb to fifth in the table, four points behind Dunfermline, though the Pars have two games in hand. Raith have lost just one of their last eight home matches against Ayr – that came in the first meeting this season, back in October. Saturday’s success was Rovers’ biggest win over the Honest Men in almost two decades, since they won by the same 3-0 scoreline at Somerset Park in December 2007, with Marvin Andrews, Mark Campbell and Robert Sloan on the scoresheet.
1 – Kelty Hearts boosted their William Hill League 1 survival chances with a 2-1 win over Hamilton Academical at Broadwood. Arran Pettifer and Ross Cunningham were on target as Tam O’Ware’s side closed the gap on their opponents at the foot of the table to just three points, and also moved to within six of Cove Rangers in eighth. The Maroon Machine recorded their first league win of 2026, however they had drawn six of their previous eight in the league heading into Saturday’s match. This was Kelty’s first ever league win over Accies – in seven previous meetings they had drawn two and lost five, although they did beat them in the Scottish Cup in November 2023.
4 – Peterhead defeated Alloa Athletic 2-1 at the Indodrill Stadium to keep their promotion hopes alive in William Hill League 1. A Kieran Shanks double was enough for the Blue Toon to move to within three points of fourth-placed Queen of the South, with Alloa just five points ahead in third. Shanks is now the joint-top scorer in the division with 17 league goals, including 10 in his last 12 matches. The Blue Toon had previously lost on each of their last four visits to Alloa, with their last victory coming back in October 2021.
9 – Elgin City beat Clyde 2-0 at Borough Briggs to climb back into the top four of William Hill League 2. Goals from Kane Hester and Kyle Girvan were enough for Allan Hale’s side to move three points clear of fifth-placed Stranraer, and just two behind Clyde in third spot. The Black and Whites are now unbeaten in their last nine meetings with the Bully Wee – they have three wins and six draws since their last defeat back in May 2024. Elgin have won each of their last three games without conceding a single goal – the last time they had three wins and three clean sheets in a row was back in August 2016.
