6 – Rangers remain just a point off the top of the William Hill Premiership table thanks to a stunning 6-3 comeback victory over Falkirk at the Falkirk Stadium. Danny Rohl’s side trailed 2-0 but doubles from Bojan Miovski and Youssef Chermiti and goals from Tochi Chukwuani and Nico Raskin helped them secure three crucial points. This was the first time Rangers had scored six goals away from home since they defeated Motherwell 6-1 at Fir Park in October 2021. Rangers have now scored four or more goals in three consecutive league matches – the last time they did this was in their 2020/21 title-winning campaign when they beat Hamilton Academical 8-0, Aberdeen 4-0 and Ross County 4-0.
10 – Aberdeen defeated Hibernian 2-0 at Pittodrie to boost their survival chances in the William Hill Premiership. Two goals from Kevin Nisbet handed Stephen Robinson his first victory as Dons boss, moving them five points clear of the relegation play-off spot with five games remaining. This is the third time this year that Nisbet has scored twice in a game – he also did so in the 6-2 win over Livingston in January and the 3-2 defeat to Dundee in February. This was just the second clean sheet Aberdeen have kept in their last 20 league matches – the only other one came in a 0-0 draw with Dundee United in February.
4 – St Johnstone defeated Airdrieonians 4-0 at McDiarmid Park to take another step closer to the William Hill Championship title. Two goals from Ruari Paton and one apiece from Morgan Boyes and Josh McPake ensured that Simo Valakari’s side remain five points clear with three matches remaining. Saints are now unbeaten in their last 11 league matches, which is their best run since they went 22 without defeat under Derek McInnes in 2008/09, which was the last season they won the second tier. Saints have won all four meetings with Airdrie this season – this is the first time they have ever had four wins out of four against the Diamonds.
1 – Kelty Hearts kept their William Hill League 1 survival hopes alive with a 3-1 victory over Montrose at New Central Park. Aaron Arnott’s opener was cancelled out but substitute Cammy Cooper scored twice to secure a crucial win for Thomas O’Ware’s side. Kelty have lost just two of their last 11 league matches (W2 D7 L2), and sit two points behind 9th-placed Hamilton and five back from Cove Rangers in eighth. This was Kelty’s first ever home win over Montrose – the Gable Endies had visited on eight previous occasions and had picked up six wins and two draws.
4 – Stranraer defeated The Spartans 2-1 at The Vanloq Community Stadium to move into the top four of William Hill League 2. Goals from Sallu Turay and Aaron Quigg handed Chris Aitken’s side a victory which took them into the final play-off spot with three matches remaining. The Blues are level on points with Forfar Athletic but are a single goal better off on goal difference, while Elgin City are two behind and Annan Athletic are three back. This was Stranraer’s third consecutive victory over Spartans – they also won their last two fixtures against East Kilbride, meaning they have their last five matches against the two title contenders.
