Weekend preview

There’s another big weekend of football coming up in the SPFL. Here are some facts and figures for all 21 matches, with league positions in brackets

Ladbrokes Premiership

Aberdeen (5) v (6) Kilmarnock

  • The last meeting was a 2-0 win for Aberdeen at Rugby Park in April
  • The Dons are unbeaten in their last 18 Premiership meetings with Killie
  • Kilmarnock's last victory in this fixture was 2-0 at Pittodrie in December 2012

Dundee (12) v (11) Motherwell

  • Motherwell won both Premiership games 1-0 at Dens Park last season
  • Dundee's last win over Well was 3-2 at Fir Park in April 2017
  • Both teams are looking for their first Premiership win of the season

Hamilton Academical (9) v (8) St Johnstone

  • It was 2-1 St Johnstone when the sides last met in May
  • Saints won all four Premiership meetings with Accies last season
  • Hamilton's only win in the last 11 meetings v St Johnstone was 1-0 in April 2017

Heart of Midlothian (1) v (10) St Mirren

  • Hearts are the only club in the SPFL still with a 100% record this season
  • This is the first meeting between the teams since a 1-1 draw in Paisley in May 2014
  • Saints won 2-0 at Tynecastle in October 2013 but Hearts won the second capital clash that season

Livingston (7) v (3) Hibernian

  • The most recent meeting was a 3-2 win for Hibs in last season's Betfred Cup
  • Hibs won 7-0 at Easter Road in the last top-flight meeting in February 2006
  • Livingston's last win against Hibs was 3-0 at Easter Road in April 2005

Celtic (2) v (4) Rangers (Sunday, Sky Sports 12 noon)

  • Celtic are unbeaten in 11 league and cup games against Rangers under Brendan Rodgers
  • Rangers last beat Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final in April 2016
  • Rangers' last league win in this fixture was 3-2 at Ibrox in March 2012
  • Celtic haven't lost at home to Rangers since a 3-1 defeat in October 2010

Ladbrokes Championship

Alloa Athletic (9) v (3) Dundee United

  • Alloa won on penalties when the teams met in the Betfred Cup last month
  • United were 2-0 winners in a Scottish Cup tie at the Indodrill Stadium in January
  • This is the first time the clubs have been in the same division since 1959/60

Dunfermline Athletic (8) v (5) Inverness Caledonian Thistle

  • Dunfermline won 2-1 away to ICT in the IRN-BRU Cup two weeks ago
  • The last East End Park meeting was a 1-0 Dunfermline win in March
  • Caley Thistle are still unbeaten but have drawn two of their three games

Partick Thistle (7) v (2) Morton

  • Thistle beat Morton 2-1 in the Betfred Cup at Firhill in July
  • The last league meeting saw Thistle win a top-of-the-table clash 1-0 in April 2013
  • Morton's last victory in this fixture was 2-1 at Firhill on Boxing Day 2012

Queen of the South (6) v (1) Ayr United

  • Ayr lead the Championship on goal difference from Morton
  • Lawrence Shankland has scored 12 goals for the Honest Men this season
  • QOS striker Stephen Dobbie is leading SPFL scorer with 14 goals already

Ross County (4) v (10) Falkirk

  • Ross County won a League Cup tie 7-0 when the sides last met in September 2015
  • The Staggies won the last league meeting 2-1 in Dingwall in March 2012
  • Falkirk haven't won any of their last eight games against Ross County

Ladbrokes League 1

Airdrieonians (4) v (7) Stranraer

  • All four meetings in League 1 last season were won by the home team
  • Airdrie have lost both home games so far in League 1 this season
  • The Diamonds beat Stranraer 2-1 in the most recent encounter in March

Arbroath (1) v (5) Brechin City

  • Arbroath are the leading SPFL scorers with 11 league goals so far
  • The Red Lichties are unbeaten and are two points clear at the top
  • The teams last met in March 2014 when Arbroath won 4-2 at Glebe Park

Montrose (6) v (10) East Fife

  • Montrose won 1-0 when the sides met in the Betfred Cup in July
  • East Fife are unbeaten in their last 11 league games v Montrose
  • Montrose's last league win v East Fife was 3-1 at Links Park in September 2007

Raith Rovers (2) v (3) Forfar Athletic

  • Raith striker Kevin Nisbet is leading SPFL scorer with six league goals
  • Rovers are still unbeaten and are one point ahead of the Loons
  • Forfar won 2-1 at Station Park when the teams last met in March

Stenhousemuir (9) v (8) Dumbarton

  • The teams last met in April 2012 when Stenhousemuir won 2-0
  • Dumbarton won the last Ochilview meeting 2-1 in February 2012
  • The Sons are one point in front of the Warriors near the foot of the table

Ladbrokes League 2 

Albion Rovers (10) v (8) Berwick Rangers

  • Rovers are yet to score a goal in League 2 this season
  • Berwick have lost three on the trot since beating Stirling on day one
  • The last meeting of the teams was a 0-0 draw in the Betfred Cup in July 2016

Annan Athletic (2) v (6) Clyde

  • The last three meetings between the teams have all ended in draws
  • Annan's last win over Clyde was 1-0 at Galabank in February 2017
  • Annan are second in the table, behind Peterhead on goal difference

Elgin City (4) v (9) Stirling Albion

  • Elgin beat Edinburgh City 1-0 in their last home game

  • The Binos' last league victory was 2-0 at Borough Briggs in March

Peterhead (1) v (3) Edinburgh City

  • Peterhead are top of the table with three wins and a draw so far
  • City are just a point behind, having won three of their four matches
  • The Blue Toon took 10 points out of 12 in last season's meetings

Queen's Park (5) v (7) Cowdenbeath

  • The teams last met in the play-offs in May 2016 when Queen’s Park won 2-1 on aggregate
  • This is the first time since 2007/08 that the teams have been in the same division
  • The Spiders have won both home league games this season without conceding a goal
