Weekend preview

There's a big weekend of football coming up in the SPFL, starting with a Friday night double header at the Falkirk Stadium and Easter Road...

Ladbrokes Premiership
Hibernian and Rangers meet at Easter Road this evening, live on BT Sport, with a 7.45pm kick-off. The last three encounters between the teams have all ended in draws. Leaders Celtic are at home to Aberdeen on Saturday - the Hoops have beaten the Dons three times this season and have a 100% home record in the Premiership but Derek McInnes' men have been on a superb run of form away from home. Dundee host Hearts, with a win apiece in the two meetings this season, and that's the same story for Motherwell and Hamilton Accies, who go head to head at Fir Park. St Johnstone are seeking to make it a hat-trick of wins over Livingston and boost their hopes of reaching the top six. The other game is on Monday when bottom club St Mirren welcome Kilmarnock to Paisley, live on Sky Sports at 7.45pm.

Ladbrokes Championship
Falkirk are at home to promotion-chasing Ayr United on Friday night, live on BBC Scotland at 7.05pm. The Bairns are still unbeaten in 2019 and have moved out of the relegation zone on goal difference. Leaders Ross County are five points clear at the top as they prepare to welcome Morton to Dingwall while second-placed Dundee United take on bottom club Partick Thistle at the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill. In-form Dunfermline Athletic have moved into the play-offs after four straight wins and make the short journey to the Indodrill Stadium to take on Alloa Athletic. Queen of the South are hoping to halt a run of six successive defeats when they play Inverness CT at Palmerston.

Ladbrokes League 1
Arbroath suffered their first away defeat of the season last weekend but still have a 14-point lead at the summit going into Saturday's home game against bottom club Stenhousemuir. Forfar Athletic have climbed to second on the back of an excellent run of results and play second-bottom Brechin City at Glebe Park in the latest Angus derby. Third-placed Raith Rovers are at home to an Airdrieonians side who are six points outside the play-offs and East Fife, in fourth, play Stranraer at Bayview. Montrose, who still harbour hopes of making the play-offs, host a Dumbarton team who have climbed to seventh after a much-improved run.

Ladbrokes League 2
Peterhead have a five-point advantage at the top following five straight wins. They are at home to Annan Athletic, who look all but assured of a play-off place after six wins and a draw in their last seven matches. Second-placed Edinburgh City are up against Queen's Park at Ainslie Park while Clyde, who are third in the table on the back of 16 games without defeat, are away to Elgin City. Stirling Albion welcome bottom club Albion Rovers to Forthbank and Berwick Rangers face Cowdenbeath at Shielfield.
