Wyness joins Black and Whites

Striker and defender sign on at Borough Briggs

Elgin City have captured Inverness Caledonian Thistle's all time record goalscorer, Dennis Wyness, from neighbours Peterhead.

Dennis Wyness in action for PeterheadThe 35-year-old, who netted over 100 goals for Caley, began his career at Aberdeen and also played for Hearts, St. Mirren, Queen of the South and Dumbarton, has joined on a year deal.

Borough Briggs boss Ross Jack has also added former St. Mirren and Montrose defender Sean Crighton to his pool with the 22-year-old signing for a two year stay.

The new recruits will join up with the bulk of the squad that took Elgin to the promotion play-offs for the first time ever with the sought after Daniel Moore along with David Niven, Mark Nicolson, Craig Gunn, Paul McMullan, Paul Millar, Graeme Beveridge, Ross O'Donoghue and Brian Cameron all signing on for the new season.

Dundee goalkeeper John Gibson will join on loan for a second time to replace Zander Clark, who has returned to St. Johnstone, with shot-stopper John Calder and midfielder Blair Lawrie both departing the club.
