Paul McManus opened the scoring just before the half time whistle, finishing from close range. Alan Cook double the home side's advantage 30 seconds into the second half, breaking forward at pace and firing the ball home from the edge of the box. Cook completed a quick fire double five minutes later. Sean Winter pulled one back for Stranraer a couple of minutes later.
Arbroath player manager Paul Sheerin grabbed a 4th for the home side with ten minutes left before Adam Forde forced home a second for the visitors in stoppage time.
