Sons edge towards play-off spot with impressive away win

Dumbarton edged closer to the 4th promotion play-off spot in the Scottish Championship thanks to an impressive away win over Ramsdens Cup winners Raith Rovers.

The sons took the lead in the first half after Mark Gilhaney forced the ball home. Mitch Megginson doubled the visitors' lead with a well worked solo effort six minutes later. Colin Nish made it 3-0 five minutes into the second half before Gordon Smith grabbed a consolation with a great effort from 20 yards out.
