Aitken leaves Dumbarton

Dumbarton have parted company with manager Stevie Aitken, who had been in charge since May 2015.

The former Stranraer boss kept the Sons in the Ladbrokes Championship until they were relegated via the play-offs in May and also took them to the final of the IRN-BRU Cup.

However, Dumbarton have made a disappointing start to life in League 1 and are ninth in the table at the end of the first quarter.
