Record crowd expected at Bayview

New Bayview to more than double attendance record at weekend

Saturday’s first ever visit of Rangers to East Fife’s Bayview Stadium is a sell-out, with the game set to create a new attendance record at the 15-year-old ground.

The Fifers have confirmed they have no more tickets available, with the existing crowd high of 1,980, reached in a Division Two game against local rivals Raith Rovers back in November 2008, to be more than doubled.

An increased capacity of 4,700 will be allowed this weekend after the installation of temporary terracing, with a club spokesperson saying: “We would like to thank all our fans who have made this game a sell-out.”

The last time East Fife played Rangers in a home game they moved their League Cup tie to Dunfermline’s East End Park in 2007 and went down 4-0 in front of 7,413 fans.
