Dick Campbell named East Fife boss

The former Arbroath boss replaces Greig McDonald

Dick Campbell has been named as the new manager of East Fife.

The experienced boss replaces Greig McDonald, who resigned from his position on Monday night.

Campbell stepped down as Arbroath manager in November 2023 after seven-and-a-half years with the Red Lichties - leading them to the cinch League 2 title in 2016/17 before clinching the cinch League 1 crown in 2018/19.

Under Campbell's leadership, Arbroath challenged for promotion to the cinch Premiership in season 2021/22 only to be pipped by Kilmarnock in the penultimate game of the season.

East Fife currently sit in sixth place in cinch League 2 with 25 points from 23 matches.

Dick Campbell told East Fife's website: “I am overjoyed to be named as the new 1st team manager of East Fife Football Club. I have always had a soft spot for the club dating back to my playing days when we had some massive games.

"I am relishing the chance to make East Fife a team to be feared again and to start climbing the leagues. I have been very impressed by the Board of Directors and their ambitions for the club, but we need everyone connected to the club to be 100% behind this project and that includes the fans."
