Docherty takes over at Dundee

Replacement for Gary Bowyer announced

Dundee have named Tony Docherty as their new manager following the recent departure of Gary Bowyer, who led the Dark Blues back to the top flight.

The experienced coach joins the club from Kilmarnock, where he was assistant to Derek McInnes who he also worked with at St Johnstone, Bristol City and Aberdeen.

Managing Director John Nelms told the Dundee website: "I am delighted with Tony’s appointment. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge of our game, having been in the dugout for over 750 matches including national team experiences, European nights, and trophy-lifting moments here domestically. Tony’s leadership, work ethic, and humility will go a long way to bringing Dundee success in the coming years.”
