Former long serving Kilmarnock player Garry Hay has ended his time with Airdrieonians after just 5 appearances.
The 35-year-old joined the Diamonds late in pre-season and agreed a deal until January however he has now accepted a full time opportunity in coaching with the SFA.
His move means that Hay can have no direct Club affiliation with Airdrie boss Jimmy Boyle saying: “It is really unfortunate but we can understand Garry’s position. We released him from his contract after the game in Ayr last Saturday and wish him well.”
“His experience was great and even though he was only here briefly he passed some of that on to our young kids.”
