Jim Weir has made a number of changes to his staff, which will see Gary Irvine focus on his playing role at Station Park while coach Barry Sellars is moving on.
Smith left Brechin earlier this season and has also been in charge of Dundee, East Fife, Alloa Athletic and Raith Rovers.
