GK - David Mitchell (Clyde)
He may have conceded two goals but there’s no way the Bully Wee would have collected all three points in their clash with Falkirk if it hadn’t been for the numerous improbable saves Mitchell pulled off throughout the 3-2 win for Danny Lennon’s men.
DR - Matty Allan (Montrose)
The centre-back - playing out of position in this team to make things easier - was excellent alongside Sean Dillon as Montrose kept up the pressure on the teams above them in League 1 with a 1-0 home triumph over play-off rivals Airdrieonians.
DC - Nir Bitton (Celtic)
The Israeli often looks comfortable and assured at centre-back, and that was the case this past weekend as Celtic survived a spirited St Johnstone performance to make it to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
DC - Stuart Morrison (Queen's Park)
The on-loan Dunfermline youngster looked thoroughly assured at the heart of the Queen’s Park defence as they continued their fine recent form with a 2-0 home win over Annan Athletic.
DL - Rico Quitongo (Dumbarton)
Daniel Armstrong and his table-topping Raith Rovers team-mates didn’t get a sniff against the full-back all afternoon as the Sons of the Rock pulled off an upset in League 1, beating John McGlynn’s side 1-0 thanks to a late Stuart Carswell goal.
MR - Martin Boyle (Hibernian)
The speedster was at his electric best on Friday night, terrorising the Inverness CT defence, helping to set up two goals and a comfortable passage into the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup with a 5-2 triumph at Easter Road.
MC - Oliver Bozanic (Hearts)
The Australian was a surprise starter after largely being out of the Hearts side in 2020, but he repaid his manager’s faith with a superb performance against Rangers. It wasn’t just his winning goal, either. He was full of energy, urgency and positive play from the centre of the park and a real driving force behind the 1-0 Scottish Cup win. For all that, he is this week’s star man.
MC - Dom Thomas (Dunfermline Athletic)
The winger - again, we’re cheating slightly by listing him in central midfield - was head and shoulders above everybody on the pitch as Dunfermline Athletic ended their 13-year wait for a home victory against Dundee United, running out comfortable 2-0 winners.
ML - Nicky Cadden (Greenock Morton)
The outstanding winger scored once and set up another as Morton continued their away-day revival with a thumping 4-0 victory at Queen of the South. A team that looked relegation threatened for a lot of this campaign are now just one point off the play-offs in the Ladbrokes Championship.
FC - Mitch Megginson (Cove Rangers)
We were tempted to go for Fraser Fyvie for an imperious midfield display in Cove’s 3-0 win at Stenhousemuir but, with few forwards standing out this weekend, we’ve instead rewarded his team-mate for netting twice to take his tally to 20 league goals and giving Paul Hartley’s side a 10-point lead at the top of the table.
FC - Dylan Bikey (Stirling Albion)
Bikey was a constant menace as Stirling kept up their impressive form with a sixth straight away win. The forward scored the opener in the 2-0 victory at bottom club Brechin City to net for the third game running.
