St. Johnstone William Hill Premiership

Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his Team of the Week, with St Johnstone defender Shaun Rooney the star man...

GK - Jamie MacDonald (Raith Rovers)
The goalkeeper pulled off two sensational stops, and another impressive effort, to preserve Raith Rovers' stunning victory at Tynecastle as John McGlynn's side upset their hosts with a 3-2 triumph.

DR - Shaun Rooney (St Johnstone)
The defender was in excellent form for Saints as they booked their place in the Betfred Cup final with a 3-0 triumph over Hibs. Rooney netted the second goal, set up the third and was a menace down the right as he constantly drove forward from deep. He is this week's star man.

DC - Ayo Obileye (Queen of the South)
Queens kept up their strong recent form with a 2-1 win over Greenock Morton. Obileye netted the opener and had a fine game for the hosts, who had to weather Morton pressure in the second period to escape with the win.

DL - Jordan Marshall (Dundee)
James McPake's side were held at Arbroath on Friday thanks to a second-half equaliser from Ricky Little, but Jordan Marshall was certainly one player in the away ranks whose performance merited all three points - he defended resolutely and bombed forward from left-back.

MR - Matty Kennedy (Aberdeen)
The winger had one of his best games in an Aberdeen shirt, including an assist for the opener, as the Dons defeated 10-man Motherwell 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

MC - Joe Aribo (Rangers)
Aribo netted a wonderful goal and was a clear stand-out in Rangers' 5-0 hammering of Ross County at Ibrox on Saturday. It was the Nigerian international's first goal since the similarly convincing 8-0 victory over Hamilton Accies in November.

MC - Craig Conway (St Johnstone)
The second St Johnstone player to appear in our team, Conway won the corner for the opening goal in the Betfred Cup semi-final clash with Hibs and put the game to bed by netting his side's third.

MC - Jason Holt (Livingston)
Holt's industry on and off the ball was a big factor in Livingston reaching the Betfred Cup semi-final on Sunday as David Martindale's team defeated St Mirren 1-0 at Hampden.

ML - Kai Kennedy (Raith Rovers)
The on-loan Rangers attacker tormented the Hearts defence and was a massive factor in his team managing to score three goals at Tynecastle despite training only once in the two weeks leading up to the match due to Covid-19 issues.

FC - Ryan Kent (Rangers)
Kent was back to his best during Saturday's thrashing of Ross County. The ex-Liverpool winger netted the opener inside the first six minutes and this gave him the confidence to be a thorn in the side of John Hughes' visitors for the duration.

FC - Scott Robinson (Livingston)
The man of the match in the second Betfred semi-final, Robinson was excellent in leading the line and scored the only goal of the game to put his side into a national final next month.
