Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his Team of the Week, with St Johnstone's Betfred Cup hero Shaun Rooney the star man!

GK - Zander Clark (St Johnstone)
St Johnstone saw out their 1-0 Betfred Cup final triumph over Livingston with a huge amount of poise but their goalkeeper’s role in the triumph should not be downplayed. Had Clark not made an excellent finger-tip stop from Josh Mullin early on, this final could have been very different.

DR - Willie Gibson (Queen of the South)
Gibson’s transformation from mercurial winger coming to the end of his career in the lower tiers to one of the best players in the Championship has been staggering. He was excellent again in the 1-0 win over Dunfermline on Saturday and scored the winning goal.

DC - Marcus Fraser (St Mirren)
St Mirren secured a vital three points in their hunt for the top six with a 1-0 win over Ross County. Fraser has been in terrific form of late and he was the stand-out yet again on Saturday.

DC - Kristoffer Ajer (Celtic)
John Kennedy made a winning start as interim boss as Celtic beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the Premiership on Saturday, with Ajer the stand-out performer for the Hoops.

DC - Ricki Lamie (Motherwell)
Lamie and centre-back colleague Tyler Magloire were both robust in their defensive duties as the Steelmen pulled off the shock of the weekend at Easter Road, defeating Hibs 2-0.

LB - Colin Hamilton (Arbroath)
An unsung hero in the Arbroath side, the left-back put in a very impressive showing as Dick Campbell's side continued their great run with a 1-0 win at struggling Ayr United.

MR - Shaun Rooney (St Johnstone)
Was the star man going to be anyone else? The rampaging wing-back scored the Betfred Cup final’s only goal with a tremendous header from a corner and threatened constantly down the flank despite being man-marked by Marvin Bartley.

MC - David Carson (Inverness CT)
A second appearance in a row for the ICT man, who impressed in the centre of the park as Inverness went toe-to-toe with Hearts on Friday night and emerged with a deserved point in a 1-1 draw against the league leaders.

MC - Regan Hendry (Raith Rovers)
Raith continued their win-loss-win-loss pattern with a come-from-behind victory over Alloa Athletic to move back above rivals Dunfermline Athletic into second place. Hendry scored the vital goal to put them in front and was the stand-out for John McGlynn's men.

ML - Jordan Roberts (Motherwell)
Roberts has impressed immensely in his first two starts for the Lanarkshire club since his loan move from Hearts. With a goal and an assist, he deserves a lot of the credit for the win in Leith.

FC - Chris Kane (St Johnstone)
There's still room for another McDiarmid Park hero. Although he didn't get on the scoresheet, Kane was brilliant in leading the line for his side in their deserved win over Livingston.
