Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his SPFL Team of the Week, with Calum Gallagher the star man after his hat-trick for Airdrieonians...

GK - Derek Gaston (Arbroath)
The goalkeeper’s 88th-minute penalty save from Ali Crawford won his side a valuable point in their bid to beat the drop in the cinch Championship. Dick Campbell's men are now off the foot of the table, ahead of Hamilton Accies on goal difference.

DEF - Nicky Devlin (Livingston)
The right-back was excellent in his side's 2-1 win over Ross County, constantly bombing forward and netting what would prove to be the winning goal as Livingston moved back into the top six.

DEF - Kevin Holt (Partick Thistle)
It wasn't much of a spectacle at Firhill, with defences very much on top during the 0-0 draw between the Jags and Dundee. The home side may not have created much themselves but the defence stood firm, with Holt impressing.

DEF - Adam Hutchinson (Forfar Athletic)
An excellent showing from the 20-year-old centre-back, and a terrific second-half display across Ray McKinnon's side, aided the Loons in beating Annan Athletic 2-1 at Station Park. There's now only three points separating Annan in third from Forfar in sixth in the cinch League 2 play-off hunt.

DEF - Stephen Hendrie (Queen of the South)
Queens got themselves a very impressive victory on Saturday, beating John McGlynn's Falkirk, who had been on a tear recently until their defeat to Dunfermline Athletic. Hendrie was superb down the left for Marvin Bartley's men, who are now three games undefeated.

MID - Sam Ashford (Ayr United)
Ayr's form in the cinch Championship has been a bit patchy of late but they recorded a solid 2-0 victory away to Hamilton Accies. Both goals came in the first half-hour with Ashford, who impressed on the wing all day, grabbing the second.

MID - David Watson (Kilmarnock)
Kilmarnock turned to youth for some inspiration following the Scottish Cup defeat to Inverness CT. Though Watson wasn't able to help his side record a victory in the 1-1 draw with St Johnstone, he showed excellent tenacity and drive in the centre of the park and was the undoubted man of the match.

MID - Dylan Easton (Raith Rovers)
Lewis Vaughan may have struck twice but it was the terrific Easton who was the star player as Raith Rovers walloped Cove Rangers 6-1 in Kirkcaldy, including notching one goal and one assist.

MID - Charlie Reilly (Albion Rovers)
The Wee Rovers attacker continued his excellent season to help his side record the most surprising result in the SPFL this weekend, going to the home of league leaders Dumbarton and winning 5-1. In addition to his two goals, he also got two assists. That would typically be enough for star man but...

FWD - Calum Gallagher (Airdrieonians)
The Airdrie man was unlucky to miss out on TOTW last week after netting a goal-of-the-season contender in the 6-1 over Kelty Hearts. But if he had any disappointment in losing out to Gabby McGill (who netted a hat-trick) he didn't have to wait long. It was Gallagher's turn to claim the match ball as Airdrie went one better, putting seven past Peterhead. He is this week's star man.

FWD - Duk (Aberdeen)
The Aberdeen forward sank Hearts within the first 20 minutes at Pittodrie as he netted two goals, including a terrific header, in a performance that had the visiting defence all at sea. Barry Robson's side eventually ran out 3-0 winners to move to within four points of third-placed Hearts.
