Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his SPFL XI with Dundee United's Louis Moult the Star Man...

GK - Callan McKenna (Queen’s Park)

The 16-year-old played like someone who had been a professional for 20 years as he put in an excellent and impressively composed performance to help the Spiders get off to a flyer in the cinch Championship, winning 2-1 at Inverness.

DEF - Nathaniel Atkinson (Hearts)

Hearts got themselves an opening-day victory at McDiarmid Park thanks to a pair of late goals after dominating the second period. One Jambo who can be proud of his performance throughout the 90 minutes was Atkinson, who was a constant threat bombing forward.

DEF - Robbie Deas (Kilmarnock)

A dominant display from this Premiership debutant helped Killie to upset Rangers on the opening day of the cinch Premiership campaign. Derek McInnes' men won 1-0 thanks to Brad Lyons' winner.

DEF - Luiyi de Lucas (Livingston)

It ended 0-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena with De Lucas playing a significant role in his side's clean sheet. The January signing was tasked with nullifying Duk, Aberdeen's main threat, and that's exactly what he did.

DEF - Cammy Clark (Stirling Albion)

The Binos started life in cinch League 1 with a 1-0 victory over Edinburgh City. Not only did Clark impress on the day, he also netted the only goal of the match with a terrific free-kick.

MID - David Turnbull (Celtic)

Early signs would suggest the return of Brendan Rodgers to Celtic could reignite Turnbull's career in Glasgow after he scored twice and shone in the 4-2 victory on Flag Day.

MID - Robbie Crawford (Greenock Morton)

A former Ayr United player, Crawford came back to haunt his old side as the 'Ton won 3-1 at Cappielow. Crawford got the hosts back into the match with an equaliser and was dominant in the centre of the park, both in a deeper role and when pushed further forward.

MID - Conor O’Keefe (Peterhead)

Two goals from the attacking midfielder helped Peterhead start life in cinch League 2 in perfect fashion with a thoroughly impressive 3-0 win at East Fife.

FWD - Louis Moult (Dundee United)

This week's Star Man comes from the very first game of the cinch SPFL league season as Dundee United ran rampant during the first half at Arbroath, scoring four times without reply to secure a 4-0 win. Moult netted one and set up the other three in a fantastic display.

FWD - Brad Rodden (Alloa Athletic)

The most barnstorming game in the lower leagues this weekend came at Palmerston where Alloa defeated Queen of the South 4-3. Rodden started the season in great goalscoring form, netting twice for the visitors, including the goal which proved to be the winner.

FWD - Greg Kiltie (St Mirren)

The Buddies became the second team to inflict a defeat on Hibs early this season as Stephen Robinson's men showed strong mental toughness to overcome losing a 2-0 lead to find a late winner. That came thanks to an excellent cross from Kiltie for Alex Greive to head home, while the attacking midfielder also had a big part in the opener as he won the penalty, which Mark O'Hara converted.
