Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his SPFL XI after the weekend's games...

GK - Brett Long (Dumbarton)

Promotion hopefuls Dumbarton were given a stern test by Elgin City in cinch League 2 this weekend, eventually winning 1-0 thanks to Tony Wallace's second-half penalty. In such tight contests, you're always susceptible to sustaining a huge blow at the other end, but thanks to an excellent save from Long, Dumbarton were able to survive and take all three points.

DEF - Stuart Morrison (Forfar Athletic)

The defender was actually moved into midfield this weekend, where he played a starring role in Forfar's huge 2-0 victory at Bonnyrigg Rose. It was the first time since September that Ray McKinnon's side earned all three points.

DEF - Danny Devine (Inverness CT)

The weekend's only cinch Championship game gained notoriety for the number of occasions the hosts hit the woodwork but Inverness CT also remained resolute at the back as the home side put them under real pressure. Devine, who impressed in defence, put the Highlanders ahead and played well at East End Park.

DEF - Iain Wilson (Greenock Morton)

Greenock Morton's SPFL Trust Trophy journey may have come to an end at the hands of Airdrieonians through a penalty shootout but Morton fans were able to take heart from the performance. Wilson, in particular, stood out in a role on the left of defence.

MID - Callumn Morrison (Falkirk)

Two goals and a thrilling performance from the club's star winger helped Falkirk to get the better of cinch Championship leaders Dundee United and book the Bairns a place in the final four of the SPFL Trust Trophy, winning 4-2 on Friday evening.

MID - Michael Tidser (Kelty Hearts)

A goal and an assist from the Kelty player/manager proved crucial in his side earning all three points from their trip to Queen of the South in cinch League One.

MID - Alan Trouten (East Fife)

Still strutting his stuff at the age of 38, Trouten was undeniably the best player on the park - and grabbed the game's opening goal - as East Fife made sure there was no new manager bounce for new Clyde boss Ian McCall. The Fifers were 4-0 winnners at New Douglas Park.

MID - Robbie Mahon (Edinburgh City)

Edinburgh are alive and kicking in the fight for safety in cinch League 1 after a thumping 3-0 win against Alloa Athletic in Andy Graham's first match in charge. Mahon got two of the goals in a convincing display for the capital side.

FWD - Jack Hamilton (Raith Rovers)

In what was a repeat of last season's SPFL Trust Trophy final, this time it was Raith Rovers who got the better of Hamilton Accies as Jack Hamilton struck twice for the visitors, including a wonderfully executed strike for his second of the game as Rovers ran out 4-1 winners.

FWD - Lewis McCann (Dunfermline Athletic)

McCann finally got his reward for a troublesome and hard-working performance up front for James McPake's side as they got their reward with an 87th-minute equaliser against Inverness.

FWD - Rumarn Burrell (Cove Rangers)

This week's Star Man comes from cinch League 1 as Cove Rangers made it six wins in succession with a 3-1 victory over Stirling Albion. Burrell netted all three goals for the hosts and is now the SPFL's leading scorer in the league with 9 goals in 14 appearances.
