Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his SPFL XI after the weekend's games...

GK - Myles Roberts (Partick Thistle)
The young stopper was excellent in the only William Hill Championship game to take place this weekend. Thanks to a couple of big saves, the hosts were able to secure a 1-1 draw with leaders Falkirk.

DEF - Cammy Ballantyne (Greenock Morton)
Having narrowly missed out on a place in last week's team, Ballantyne gets his reward for keeping up his fine form as he impressed in Greenock Morton's 1-0 win at Hamilton Accies as they progressed to the quarter-finals of the SPFL Trust Trophy.

DEF - Scott Taggart (Alloa Athletic)
Typically used at right-back, the Alloa stalwart put in a composed and dominant display as the Wasps defeated Arbroath 1-0 in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

DEF - Chris Hamilton (Dunfermline Athletic)
Dunfermline got a morale-boosting victory and avoided a potential cup shock with a 2-1 triumph over Kelty Hearts at East End Park. Hamilton put in a superb performance at the heart of the back three.

MID - Paul Allan (Inverness CT)
They may have exited the tournament, but Duncan Ferguson's side can be proud of their performance as they took Livingston to penalties in their SPFL Trust Trophy clash. Allan netted and put in a good display in the centre of the park.

MID - Ben Dempsey (Ayr United)
In the midst of a thoroughly impressive campaign, Dempsey put in another eye-catching performance as the Honest Men defeated Peterhead 2-1 in their tie at Somerset Park.

MID - Dylan Tait (Falkirk)
A regular in the Team of the Week, Tait was superb once again as Falkirk dominated a lot of the match at Firhill but failed to take three points in what ended a 1-1 draw.

MID - Louis Longridge (Queen’s Park)
Longridge, typically thought of as a wide player or attacking midfielder, played the deep-lying 'quarterback' role for Queen's Park this weekend and looked very comfortable doing so as Callum Davidson's men defeated Annan Athletic 4-1.

FWD - Stevie May (Livingston)
A goal and an assist from the on-loan St Johnstone striker helped Livingston through to the next stage of the SPFL Trust Trophy on penalties after a 2-2 draw with Inverness CT.

FWD - Connor Young (Edinburgh City)
The Star Man for the second time in three weeks. What a season Connor Young is having! He netted his seventh and eighth goals of the campaign as City won a huge local derby with Spartans, lifting them off the foot of William Hill League 2. In addition to his two strikes, the former Hibs and Rangers youngster was a threat throughout.

FWD - Gavin Reilly (Arbroath)
While he didn't get on the scoresheet, Reilly put in an impressive showing with his industry and link-up play as Arbroath lost to fellow League 1 side Alloa Athletic in the cup.
