Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his William Hill SPFL XI

GK – Calum Ferrie (Queen’s Park)

The Spiders would eventually run away with their William Hill Championship encounter with Raith Rovers, winning 4-0 at Stark's Park, but they were thankful to Ferrie for making a couple of outstanding saves while the game was still in the balance.

DEF – Callum Flatman (Kelty Hearts)

Charlie Mulgrew is off and running at Kelty Hearts after a 1-0 victory away to Queen of the South. Young Flatman was excellent in a robust defensive showing from the visitors.

DEF – Craig Howie (Clyde)

Clyde moved 10 points clear of the relegation zone at the bottom of William Hill League 2 thanks to a 1-0 away win at bottom club Forfar Athletic. Howie put in a terrific showing at the back and scored the game's only goal.

DEF – Cieran Dunne (Peterhead)

Peterhead are back within a point of leaders East Fife in League Two thanks to a 2-0 victory over fellow promotion-chasers Elgin City. Dunne was a constant thorn in Elgin's side as he made many marauding runs from left-back.

MID – Tom Sparrow (Motherwell)

Motherwell defeated Rangers at Ibrox for the second time in the space of a year on Saturday to move back into the top six in the William Hill Premiership. Sparrow was the pick of the bunch with his tireless running down the right flank, including scoring what would prove to be the winning goal.

MID – Josh Nisbet (Ross County)

One of the most complete showings from the Australian in a County jersey since his summer move helped Don Cowie's men to another vital three points in their fight for survival in the Premiership as they defeated Kilmarnock 1-0 in Dingwall.

MID – Ben Dempsey (Ayr United)

Ayr are back to within three points of the Championship summit after taking advantage of both Livingston and Falkirk dropping points with a 4-1 victory over Airdrieonians. Dempsey was a huge influence in the middle of the park.

MID – Nicky Cadden (Hibs)

Hibs won the second Edinburgh derby in succession, and are now four undefeated, after beating Hearts 2-1 at Easter Road on Sunday. Cadden was quiet in the first half but excelled in the second period as David Gray's side made it 15 games unbeaten.

FWD – Hyun-Jun Yang (Celtic)

It's not often that we include substitutes in Team of the Week, but it isn't often that a substitute comes on and scores two goals and sets up another. That was Yang's impact from the bench as Celtic eventually managed to pull away from St Mirren on Saturday evening with a 5-2 win.

FWD – Kevin Nisbet (Aberdeen)

Two late goals from the striker stopped Aberdeen from going down 2-0 at home to Dundee United, though they did slip from third place in the Scottish Premiership thanks to Hibs' victory earlier that day.

FWD – Corey O’Donnell (Stenhousemuir)

This week's Star Man comes from William Hill League 1 where O'Donnell helped himself to a first-half hat-trick as the Warriors defeated Dumbarton 3-1 to stay on the heels of Arbroath the at top of the league table. It's been a terrific time for O'Donnell of late as he's now netted five goals in his last three games.
