Motherwell claimed a 1-1 draw with Rangers, producing a performance which impressed many onlookers. Despite an encourgaing display, the Steelmen were thankful for an incredible last-ditch tackle from Johnny Koutroumbis moments from full-time to round off a great 90 minutes from the Australian defender.
DEF - Craig Halkett (Hearts)
Halkett was a lean, mean, heading machine at the heart of the home defence as Heart of Midlothian defeated Aberdeen in the final game of the William Hill SPFL weekend.
DEF - Jason Brown (Peterhead)
It was Flag Day at Balmoor as Peterhead began their William Hill League 1 journey in style with centre-back Brown helping himself to a double in a 4-1 triumph over fellow newly-promoted East Fife.
DEF - Oscar McIntyre (Inverness CT)
The left-back thoroughly impressed the Inverness fans on his league debut for the club as the Highlanders opened up with a 3-0 victory at Kelty Hearts.
MID - Euan Henderson (Airdrieonians)
Rhys McCabe's men were able fight back from a 2-0 half-time deficit to earn a draw with Ross County thanks to Henderson's brace.
MID - Benjamin Luissint (Queen of the South)
After a difficult 2024/25 campaign on the road, Queen of the South got off to the perfect start by winning 2-0 at Cove Rangers. Luissint was a powerhouse in the centre of the park before being forced off late on through injury.
MID - Josh McPake (St Johnstone)
This week's Star Man comes from St Johnstone after the Perth Saints produced a statement of intent with a 5-1 thumping of Partick Thistle in the William Hill Championship. McPake was the hat-trick hero as Simo Valakari's men produced a brilliant performance against Mark Wilson's side.
FWD - Kieron Bowie (Hibs)
The Hibs striker started his William Hill Premiership campaign by bagging both goals as David Gray's men reacted to their midweek European heartbreak in the best way possible, seeing off Dundee 2-1 at Dens Park.
FWD - Mark Stowe (The Spartans)
Two goals, including a tremendous strike, from the forward against newly-promoted East Kilbride ensured the capital club would be taking three points home.
