Team of the Week

A View from the Terrace's Craig Fowler names his William Hill SPFL XI...

GK - Shamal George (St Mirren)

It was a weekend of incredible saves in the William Hill Premiership with many of the top-flight's shot stoppers showing their talents. St. Mirren's Shamal George earned his place in this week's TOTW after making a tremendous stop as he managed to claw the ball away from goal to deny Thelo Aasgaard.

DEF - Jordan Doherty (Raith Rovers)

Rovers earned early-season bragging rights in the Fife derby after defeating rivals Dunfermline Athletic 2-0. Doherty put in a robust defensive display on the right of the home side's back three.

DEF - David Devine (Alloa Athletic)

Devine got the only goal of the game and was the Wasps' main man as Alloa maintained their perfect start to the William Hill League 1 campaign with a 1-0 win over Hamilton Accies.

DEF - Andy Munro (East Fife)

The defender scored both goals as East Fife claimed consecutive victories in the third tier with a 2-1 triumph over Kelty Hearts at New Bayview.

MID - Robbie Mahon (Edinburgh City)

This week's Star Man comes from William Hill League 2 as Edinburgh City continued to reduce the gap at the foot of the table thanks to a 4-2 win at Elgin City. Mahon netted a hat-trick and could've had a couple more as he constantly threatened from the right, cutting in on his stronger left foot and going for goal.

MID - Ben Stanway (Partick Thistle)

The midfielder scored a cracking effort and was one of the star performers for Mark Wilson's side as they won 3-1 at Ross County, a result which put paid to Don Cowie's time in charge of the Highland club.

MID - Jason Holt (St Johnstone)

Saints are top of the William Hill Championship with three victories from three games following a comfortable 3-0 triumph over Arbroath. Holt got on the scoresheet and was the stand-out at McDiarmid Park.

MID - Benjamin Nygren (Celtic)

Summer signing Nygren has three goals in his opening three William Hill Premiership games after the reigning champions saw off Livingston 3-0 at home. The Swedish midfielder bagged a brace as Brendan Rodgers' men lead the way.

MID - Elijah Just (Motherwell)

New Zealand international Elijah Just helped himself to two assists as Motherwell stormed into a 3-0 lead at Tynecastle, only to see Hearts mount an incredible comeback to secure a point in Gorgie. The 25-year-old looks like a player to watch as the season goes on.

FWD - Claudio Braga (Hearts)

While Just was Motherwell's main man, Hearts had Claudio Braga to thank for sparking their fightback in the capital. The Portuguese forward found the net twice as Derek McInnes' men showed their powers of recovery to draw 3-3.

FWD - Ally Roy (Dumbarton)

Ally Roy and Leighton McIntosh both helped themselves to a double as Dumbarton defeated Annan Athletic 4-3 away from home. Roy gets the nod ahead of his strike partner as he also registered an assist for one of McIntosh's goals.
