Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his William Hill SPFL XI...

GK – Scott Bain (Falkirk)

Falkirk got their first victory back in the William Hill Premiership with a 1-0 triumph at Aberdeen. The Bairns were thankful to Bain for some excellent stops before John McGlynn's men were able to make their numerical advantage count following Nicky Devlin's red card.

DEF – Carlo Pignatiello (Queen’s Park)

Queen's Park continue to show real spirit in the William Hill Championship as they secured a 1-1 draw with Ayr United at Somerset Park. Pignatiello, who joined from Dumbarton in the summer, put in a terrific shift at right-back.

DEF – Aidan Quinn (Montrose)

A goal and an excellent performance at the back from the defender helped Montrose to pick up their first victory of the William Hill League 1 season, beating Peterhead 2-1 to move off the bottom of the table.

DEF – Jack Hannah (Queen of the South)

Queens moved to the top of the third-tier table thanks to a 2-1 victory over Kelty Hearts at Palmerston Park. Hannah, who signed from Middlesbrough this summer, put in a very good performance at the back.

DEF – Oscar MacIntyre (Inverness CT)

Fans of Inverness CT have been raving about MacIntyre's performances since signing him on a permanent deal from Hibernian this summer and Saturday's 1-0 win over Alloa Athletic was no exception.

MID – Alexandros Kyziridis (Hearts)

Hearts are level on points with Celtic at the top of the William Hill Premiership after a late win over Livingston. Kyziridis was the catalyst for the comeback, creating the equaliser shortly after coming on and netting an injury-time winner.

MID – Ryan Flynn (Arbroath)

Flynn and central midfield partner Harry Cochrane puled the strings as the Red Lichties saw off Airdrieonians 1-0 in Danny Lennon's first game in charge of the Diamonds. Flynn gets the nod for this team for his all-round performance.

MID – Aidan Fitzpatrick (Partick Thistle)

A goal and an electric performance from the winger helped Partick Thistle to victory in one of the William Hill SPFL's most entertaining games this weekend. Thistle defeated Raith Rovers 3-2 and Fitzpatrick was at the heart of all that was good for the hosts.

FWD – Ronan Hale (Ross County)

The Staggies have kept hold of the Northern Ireland international who looks like he will continue to be key to their hopes of success this season. Hale helped himself to a double in the 2-2 draw with Dunfermline Athletic, including an 89th-minute equaliser at East End Park.

FWD – Cameron Elliott (East Kilbride)

This week's Star Man made an incredible contribution with four goals as East Kilbride thumped Forfar Athletic 5-0 at home. Elliott's fourth goal was a particular highlight, with his strike from distance flying high into the net.

FWD – Ivan Dolcek (Dundee United)

It is little wonder that Dundee United are reported to be keen to extend the Croatian's stay after a brilliant start to life at Tannadice. He scored the second goal to make it four goals in three league outings so far.
