Third Lanark Anniversary to be marked

Dinner to celebrate the Hi-Hi this Saturday

It promises to be an emotional night on Saturday as supporters and former players of Third Lanark, mark the 45th Anniversary to the day of the Hi-Hi’s final game against Dumbarton back on 28th April, 1967.

The Third Lanark Supporters Club are holding a Tribute evening to the Cathkin club with 16 former players, including Drew Busby who scored the side’s last ever goal in the 3-1 defeat at Boghead, attending the event at Wellcroft Bowling Club in Glasgow.

Doug Baillie, Drew Busby, Tony Connell, Peter Dallas, Joe Davis, George Fyfe, Matt Gray, Dave Hilley, Ian Hilley, Mike Jackson, Alistair Miller, George McCallum, John McCormack, Findlay McGillviray, Hugh McLaughlin and Evan Williams are the players who will all be re-united.

Club historians Bob Laird and Bert Bell will also be present as will former football commentator Archie Macpherson.
